The Bass Mekanic in the 90's
During the early to mid 1990s, Jon wrote a range of dance, rave and techno music under the guise of The Bass Mekanic (and also, for a brief period 'Plan Nine' and 'The Plan'). Over this period, he performed at numerous rave events and dance parties sharing his happy and upbeat 'go-for-it' music. Amongst white label releases, including 'The Power', The Bass Mekanic's most popular tune Can't Wait Tonight was released, in two different edits, on the 'The Sound of Obsession Volume One' where he featured as lead track, and also Noise Love Unity - Love Parade '94 - The Bunker Compilation! Now...?
Jon has recently begun work on a new dance sound, under the name Bassmo (a contraction of Bass Mekanic), combining elements of jazz and improvisation, with modern trance and 'old skool' drum and bass.

Some tunes from the early 90s are now available below, along with Jon's fun 80s megamix. The goal of the megamix was to always have at least two tunes (or parts thereof) playing at any one time. Jon's favourite section is the Ghostbusters bit around the 17:30 mark.

It should be noted that, over the years, other artists and companies have also used the name Bass Mechanic/Mekanik/Mecanic.
